He successfully gained admission to the Faculty of Medicine at Ramathibodi Hospital (คณะแพทยศาสตร์โรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดี)—an institution steeped in history and originally supported by America’s Rockefeller Foundation. Yet, he ultimately chose to untether himself from that predetermined trajectory, abandoning his medical studies to follow the shifting rhythms of his true calling. It is hardly surprising, then, that several of his characters manifest as former medical students who deeply interrogate and challenge "the system."

The Literary Trajectory
As Wipas forged his new path, his creative voice gained definitive clarity. He began sharing short stories, poetry, and visual arts with the public, with several early works earning accolades from the Language and Literature Association of Thailand (สมาคมภาษาและหนังสือแห่งประเทศไทย). Stirred by a haunting conceptual premise—what if a character felt compelled to capture a man and cage him like an animal?—Wipas breathed life into his seminal novel, The Dwarf (คนแคระ, 2012). This psychological tour de force plunges readers into the darkest, most labyrinthine recesses of the human psyche and rightfully secured Thailand’s prestigious S.E.A. Write Award (รางวัลซีไรต์) that same year.
